"Heritage History of Chester County", 1982, has the following
article about Newton Hopkins Family by Thomas Hopkins Peake,
Jr., on page 256, which lists a previously unknown daughter of
Nathan Glenn and Lucy Coleman: "Newton Hopkins, son of Colonel
David and Mary Glenn Hopkins, was born in Hanover County,
Virginia, died prior to January 22, 1799. Reference instrument
is recorded in Chester County, South Carolina, Deed Book B, page
35 whereby his widow released all her claim to the estate of
Newton Hopkins to Ferdinand Hopkins of Chester County.
Newton Hopkins married his first cousin, Patience Terry Glenn,
born 1770, died 1828, on March 20, 1786. She was the daughter
of Nathan and Lucy Coleman Glenn of Virginia and Union County,
South Carolina.
They had one daughter Mary T. N. Hopkins, born April 6, 1787
Chester County, died August 7, 1849 Union County. She was
married to Colonel Reuben Sims, born Nov, 3, 1784, died
September 15, 1840, Union County. They are buried at Fishdam
Cemetery, Carlisle, South Carolina. Reuben and Mary Sims had
one daughter, Annie Glenn Sims."
